How do I find out what jobs are available?

You can find out what types of jobs the university offers by visiting our Web site. A listing of all staff positions can be found by clicking on the "Staff Positions" link. Faculty openings are listed on the Academic Affairs Web site.

When are jobs posted on the the Web site?

Positions are posted on the Web site when they become available and can appear online anytime. We recommend that you check online regularly for postings. You may also choose to receive job e-mail notifications whenever a new position matching your profile is posted. To activate the alert, you will have to "Access Your Profile" and check the e-mail notification box under "Job Posting Notification" on your personal information.

How long are jobs posted?

Each position is posted online for a minimum of 5 business days and may be posted longer. Some position may include a deadline, others may not. It is the applicant's responsibility to maintain awareness of response deadlines.

Should I attach my resume or paste it into the position I want to apply for?

You may attach your resume electronically or you may enter your information manually. If you decide to enter your information manually, you can still attach your resume at that time or at a later date. You may also choose to let the system upload your resume information. When you choose this option, your information will be uploaded into the system and your resume will be automatically attached to your profile information. Hiring supervisors will see your formatted resume whenever you apply for a position and meet its minimum qualifications. The Web site provides instruction on how to upload a resume.

How can I update my information?

You will need to log into the system and select "Access My Profile" in order to update your information.

When will my information be updated?

Any changes you make to your personal information will be updated immediately. You can verify your updated information by selecting "Summary" tab in the workflow displayed at the top of your candidate information file.

Are internal candidates automatically considered for each position?

If you are a current employee at IPFW, and are interested in a position, you will need to access the the job site at www.ipfw.jobs to apply for a position.

Where can I find a computer to use to apply for a position?

You can find computers available at your local library or at our campus library. You can also access a computer at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (the Unemployment Office) located at the corner of Clinton and Rudisill.

How do I know if I need visa sponsorship for employment?

Please refer to www.uscis.gov if you have questions on whether you need visa sponsorship.
