Qualifications:

Applicants must have a completed doctorate in Women’s Studies or a related discipline.  If the applicant’s doctorate is in a related discipline, it is expected that the applicant will have graduate training and/or a record of scholarship in women’s studies, gender studies, or feminist theory.  The rank for this position is open; however, experience is preferred.  Applicants at the rank of assistant professor must have a minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience after completion of the doctorate.  Administrative experience is strongly preferred.

Duties/Special Duties:

Include administration of the Women’s Studies program; teaching three courses per year; the active pursuit of a program of scholarship leading to peer-reviewed publication; and relevant university, community and/or professional service.  Administrative duties (50% of the load) include planning curriculum, scheduling courses, supervising part-time faculty and clerical personnel, advising students, and collaborating with full-time faculty, university staff, and community members who serve the Women’s Studies program.  The director’s appointment will be solely in Women’s Studies.
