Educational Policy Committee
Revising the Goals and Objectives for the IPFW Baccalaureate Degree
We need the advice and counsel of the entire IPFW community.
The members of the Educational Policy Committee are supervising a revision of the Goals and Objectives for the IPFW Baccalaureate Degree (SD 88-33). The Goals and Objectives (Learning Outcomes) that result from this process will provide the framework for our future curricular development and assessment efforts.
Guiding Principles
To encourage participation, EPC offers the following principles to guide the IPFW Community in this endeavor.
1. Opportunities for participation in the revision of these Goals will be many and varied in order to faciltiate an inclusive process.
2.The purpose of this revision is to determine the core competencies expected of all recipients of an IPFW Baccalaureate degree.
3.The revised Goals and Objectives will articulate a holistic and integrative view of IPFW baccalaureate degree programs reflecting the full scope of a student's course of study.
4. The revised Goals and Objectives will offer a framework which will allow individual units to determine the means by which students will achieve those Goals and Objectives.
5.The revised Goals and Objectives will be realized through our shared values that recognize the principles of academic freedom and open inquiry.
