Student Mentoring
Frequently Asked Questions
Where does Student Mentoring take place?
Student Mentoring can take place wherever the partners agree upon and will arrange the location and time of the meetings based on their mutual availability. They may even arrange long distance mentoring. |
How much does the program cost?
Our mentors are volunteers and our program activites are paid for by funding provided by a portion of the Student Service fees.
What is the time commitment?
The Student Mentoring program is designed to last through the mentee's first year, but if you believe you've been mismatched, you can be paired up with a new mentor or it can also be dissolved at any time per your request. However, many friendships formed through our program go on to last beyond the program's duration.
When and where can I start?
You can enroll now for the Spring 2009 Student Mentoring program through the Student Life office!
Do I need experience to be a mentor?
You already have all the experience you need! A mentor applies his or her knowledge and experience to the friendship. We will, however, provide an orientation to all mentors. |
