Accounting Society

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To prepare accounting students for professional roles in the field of accounting. Also, to give students the opportunity to meet professionals within the field to enhance their networking skills.

    There is a $5.00 annual membership to be in the accounting society. Students must complete the short application and tehy should also be a business student.

Agriculture & Pre-Vet Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To learn as much as possible and gain experience regarding these career fields, as well as to make new friends.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Attendance to all meetings is strongly suggested, participation in club activities a must. Comments and/or suggestions are always welcome. Voting members must be enrolled in at least 1 class and have a GPA of at least 2.0. Non-students are welcome to join and participate in events, but are not able to vote, or hold office. Dues are $3.00 per semester.

American Medical Student Association (AMSA)
PreMed Club

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To inform students of the requirements for medical schools, aide in the application process, and provide education about the medical field as a profession. Also to provide information regarding the MCAT and encourage medical health profession graduate studies.
  • Membership Requirements and Obligations:
    Membership is extended to all IPFW students. The membership fees for the local chapter shall be $5 for the academic year and AMSA national dues for officers are $35 per year. The number of members is unlimited. Members may be expelled from this organization for inappropriate conduct and for violating the student code of conduct.

American Society of Civil Engineers

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    To encourage the development of professional consciousness.
    To introduce students to the profession of Civil Engineering.
    To promote a spirit of congeniality among students. To provide friendly contact with the engineering profession.

    Membership in this organization shall be open to a IPFW students and may include a limited number of non-students. 51% of the total membership must be currently enrolled students a IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university in an offical capacity. Memership dues of the club shall be $10 per semester due at the second regular meeting.

America's Renaissance

  • Purpose and Goals of Organization:
    Engage IPFW student body with government through innovative forums of discussion. Provide an understanding of the agencies, which our government is comprised of in an effort to instruct how change can be achieved.

    To promote a musical atmosphere for instrumental students enrolled in the IPFW Music Department and those in the academic community (Specifically High School and Middle School)

Counseling Honors Society

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
Promote scholarship, research, professionalism and excellence in counseling. Recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Students enrolled in counselor education programs leading to graduate degrees, completing one semester in a counseling graduate program, and a grade point average of 3.5 or better. Fees are $35 paid to the national organization. New members will be inducted in the fall semester annually. Members may be expelled for poor conduct by a 2/3 majority vote.

Geosciences Club

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
Acquaint Geology majors/minors with all aspects of Geology by exposing them to field trips,lectures, get-togethers, and Geology fun.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Membership shall be open to all IPFW students and a limited number of non-students. Voting members shall pay $5.00 in dues per semester. The induction of club officers takes 2/3 majority vote. Expulsion consists of a petition of 3/4 members signatures and 3/4 vote.

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
Form a community of German language students who meet regularly to speak German in a comfortable setting.

Hispanas Unidos
 
Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To provide a support group and social activities for hispanic students and other members that are interested in learning more about the hispanic culture. To provide opportunities for members to make a difference not only in campus, but also in our community.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Membership is open to students who are enrolled in at least one credit hour at IPFW and interested in the Hispanic/Latino culture are invited to join us. Spanish is not a requirement ot join our organization. Membership dues are $5 per semester, for students and $10 for associate members.

Human Services Organization

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To encourage human services students in their professional development. This will be accomplished by: Personal encouragement, sharing information on HSRV's career, providing information for professional training, offering volunteer and networking opportunities, guest speakers, and information on advanced degrees.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Membership is oen to all IPFW and Ivy Tech students. Non-HSRV students are not to exceed 1/2 of the total membership. Students must maintain at least a 2.0 a semester/accumulative GPA. Faculty, staff, almni, or community members may join but they will not have voting privileges. Dues are $5 per year. Members may be expelled from this organization for conduct unbecoming and for violations of the student code of conduct.

International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE)


Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To educate IPFW students and the Fort Wayne area in Jazz performance, improvisation, and the history of Jazz.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Must have 15 members. Dues are $25 per year. Meetings are not required, but attendance is expected. Non-members are welcome to attend meetings. Members must be enrolled in one credit hour at IPFW.

Host the IPFW Honors Jazz Bands, work with an area school. Have many guest speakers at out meetings.

Marketing Association

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To develop better Public understanding and appreciation of marketing problems. Also promote friendly learning relationaships between students, faculty, and local businesses.

Membership shall be open to all IPFW students enrolled in at least three credit hours at IPFW. Fifty-one percent of the total membership must be currently enrolled at IPFW.

Music Educator's National Conference

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To promote an affordance for students to have an opportunity for professional orientation and development while still in school and to promote an understanding of the basic truths and principals that underlie the role of music in human life and the philosophy and function of music education.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Yearly local and national dues are for an academic year. Students are eligible for membership if interested in Music Education and if they are not employed full-time in the field of music education. National dues and local dues for an academic year: National dues for MENC collegiate membership are less than 1/3 the cost of a regular MENC membership, students become members by filling out a form that ask for mailing address and year in school as well as paying dues for the year.

Purpose and Goals of Organization
Increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers whom excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community .
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
$10 fee for students membership. Open to any student from any scientific field; preferably minority engineers and even more, black engineering students.
Activities and Events Planned for Current Year:
Auction during the Valentines day period, tutoring math and science at high schools, volunteering activities on campus.

SME shall be an operating institution for the advancement of scientific knowledge and education in the field of manufacturing.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Membership in this organization shall be open to all IPFW students and may include a limited number of non-students. Fifty-one percent of the total membership must be curretnly enrolled students at IPFW and only those members may vote, hold office, and represent the organization/university in an offical capacity. There are no dues collected by SME campus organizations.

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
Establish engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. Empower women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recongnized for their contributions as engineers and leaders.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Not employeed full-time in a professional engineering position or a field related to engineering. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering OR is pursuing a full-time baccalaurate degree in engineering or a field related to engineering.

Speech and Hearing Club

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To create and stimulate an interest in speech–language pathology, audiology, and education of people with speech and hearing disorders. To encourage professional growth by providing learning experiences not offered in formal course structure. To educate the community as to the role of and need for speech pathology, audiology, and education of people with speech and hearing disorders.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
All IPFW students enrolled in at least a credit hour are eligible to join. Dues are $1.00 per semester. Members are required to attend meetings, pay dues and attend outside functions.

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To stimulate intellectual curiosity for students interested in chemistry, chamical engineering, and to provide opportunity to obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before chemically oriented audiances.

Undergraduate students with interests in chemistry or working toward a B.S.A or a B.S. with a major in chemistry, dues are $5.00.

Student American Dental Hygiene Association

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To develop socially sensitive dental hygiene students. To promote professional growth and responsibility among dental hygiene students. To cultivate, promote, and sustain the art and science of dental hygiene, to represent and safeguard the common interests of members, and contribute toward improvement of oral health of public.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
Student membership dues are valid for one calendar year. Members may be expelled for conduct un brcoming and for violation of student code of conduct. A petition will be signed by 2/3 of the members. Only members can vote, hold, office, and represent the organization in any official capacity.

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
Provide opportunities for diversional activities as a cohort group and conduct fund raising to benefit both member and nonmember students enrolled at IPFW in the nursing program.
Membership Requirements and Obligations:
All Nursing program IPFW students. Voting members enrolled a minimum membership is 8. Non-student members may include faculty staff, alumni or community members.

Purpose and Goals of Organization:
To help students get/maintain a positive image of the theater. To raise funds through various enterprises to support performances projects scholarships, and other theatrical activities. Organize group trips.
