Welcome to University Police

Mission Statement

"To protect and serve the campus community by providing a safe environment through enforcement, service and education."

Lieutenant Jeffery W. DavisMessage from the Chief

IPFW is concerned about the safety and welfare of all campus members and guests and is committed to promoting a safe and secure environment. Although we have been fortunate in not experiencing a significant number of serious crimes, the potential for such incidents always exists. To prevent these crimes from happening, University Police needs the help of all students, staff, and faculty. Please report all suspicious activity immediately. Don't leave your valuables unattended. Make sure all office doors are locked. With your help we can make a difference.

Our personnel includes fifteen police officers, two safety officers, and five clerk/dispatchers. Our department works closely with local law enforcement agencies and solicits information on any criminal activity of students that may occur at off-campus locations. Through agreement with the City of Fort Wayne we have been authorized jurisdiction throughout the city.
