Student Opportunities

Student-Faculty Research

The opportunity for student – faculty research is one of the highlights of our physics program.  Students can work with faculty in three main areas.  Lasers and Optics, Nonlinear Computational Physics, and Physics Education.

Many of these students have gained Masters – level research experience, co-authored publications in top level physics journals, and presented papers at professional conferences up to international level.  These students may also fulfill the requirements for a research certificate.

A successful research experience may reasonably be expected to enhance a student’s chances for gaining employment or entry to graduate school.

Student – faculty research is an important component of the strategic plan of both the department and the university.

IPFW is an Equal Opportunity/Equal Access University.
