Academic Ceremonies

Seating & Accessibility

The IPFW Commencement ceremony is not ticketed and there is no limit to the number of guests a student may bring.

Accessible Seating

Guests who are not able to do steps are seated on the outside perimeter of the arena floor or in the 600 level of seating (accessible by elevator). Ask an usher (red coats) for directions or escort to accommodated seating.  To accommodate as many guests as possible, floor seating is limited to the person in need of accommodated seating and one other guest.

Guests using wheelchairs should bring their own chairs.

If needed, the Coliseum has a limited number of wheelchairs behind the escalator in the Rotunda. Although wheelchairs are not borrowed for the evening, ushers will escort a guest to the seating area. Using radios to coordinate, ushers will bring a wheelchair to the seating area midceremony if needed and return for that guest (as quickly as possible for everyone) at the end of the ceremony. If a guest feels they have been forgotten, they should bring the situation to the attention of an usher.
