Honor Cords

Honor degree candidates who attend Commencement receive and wear honor cords and receive special recognition during the ceremony. Students eligible to wear a cord will be notified by email.

Associate and bachelor degree candidates qualify for graduation with honors, distinction or highest distinction, by meeting the qualifications set forth by the IPFW Faculty Senate. 

Distinction:  Must meet or exceed a cumulative GPA of 3.80 and meet minimum resident credits.
Highest Distinction:  Must meet or exceed a cumulative GPA of 3.95 and meet minimum resident credits.

Bachelor degree candidates must have completed a minimum of 65 resident credits.
Associate degree candidates must have completed a minimum of 35 resident credits. 

Graduation with honors is noted on official transcripts and diplomas. For additional information, please contact the Office of Academic Ceremonies at 260–481–6460.

*Labor Studies degree candidates follow IU system benchmarks.
