
Workshop Designed to Stimulate Interest in Health Careers
(Fort Wayne, July 1, 2008) -- Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne's (IPFW) Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center (NEI-AHEC) will offer a workshop for K-12 educators, "Engaging Students Today for Healthy Careers Tomorrow." The one-credit workshop will be Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 11-13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Parkview Hospital North and NEI-AHEC, part of IPFW's College of Health and Human Services.
Using a project-based approach, educators will explore opportunities to engage educationally disadvantaged middle and high school students in activities designed to enhance awareness of health careers and interest in math and science.
