Plogsterth, Willard Thomas

Categories: People

Mr. Plogsterth was bron in 1898 and died in 1986.  A retired Lincoln National Life Insurance executive and friend of IPFW, Mr. Plogsterth was a long-time art enthusiast who established the Plogsterth Fine Arts Book Collection in Helmke Library. He was treasurer of the Fort Wayne Art Institute for many years. Hector Garcia created a bas-relief of Mr. Plogsterth that was placed in Helmke Library. For many years following his death, his wife, Margaret Plogsterth, continued to make donations to the collection. For a detailed description of the Plogsterth family's contributions to IPFW, see an article by Christina Kulow in the December 1995 issue of Current (pp. 11-13).
