Attention: Effective May 10, 2007 faculty may order video materials directly from the Instructional Support Services (ISS) unit at Indiana University Bloomington. LRC will no longer schedule films or videos for classroom use.
35mm slide projectors, and 16mm film projectors will no longer be loaned for general classroom use. To order a video title, please follow this procedure:
-
Use the existing ISS catalog to search for titles, and to access the subject/topical guides: http://www.libraries.iub.edu/index.php?pageId=4686
The PDF version of each subject category provides the title and title number, a summary, and other useful information. -
Once you find a title, contact Martha Harsanyi either via e-mail at harsanyi@indiana.edu (preferred), or by phone at 812-855-8065. (You can use Suvon if you are calling from a campus phone.)
-
If you are unable to reach Martha, contact UITS Classroom Technology Services via email at: cts@indiana.edu, or by phone at 812-855-8765, ext.1.
You will need the title and title number, the time span the video is needed, your course number, and your campus address at IPFW. Booking can be done up to a year in advance (the sooner, the better).
Campus mail is used for deliveries. Please allow at least five week days for shipping. A return address label will be included.
Many media materials are also catalogued and listed in IUCAT. At this time the IU-Bloomington library does not lend DVDs due to their fragility. Other items (audio or videotapes) listed in IUCAT for other campuses must be requested via DDS (interlibrary loan). Do not use the Request Delivery system in IUCAT. There is no booking system available yet for these materials and so there is no guarantee of delivery date.
If you need assistance in the transition to this new procedure please contact Jane Whitcraft, LRC Office Manager, by phone at 481-6519, or by email at lrcscheduling@ipfw.edu.
LRC (260-481-6519) is responsible for scheduling and delivering instructional technology to general classrooms in which there is no installed technology, to conference rooms and meeting rooms on campus.
Instructional technology such as computers, LCD projectors, TVs, DVD/VCR players, CD/Cassette players, Sound Reinforcement equipment, Camcorders, Overhead projectors, Screens, Sound systems, Podiums, and technical support can be scheduled by email at: lrcscheduling@ipfw.edu, or by calling 260-481-6519, by fax at 260-481-6517, or in person at the LRC Office in Helmke Library, room B37.
Requests for LRC services should be made at least two (2) working days before equipment is needed. Due to the volume of requests and staff limitations, same-day requests are not accepted.
